FLUX is the photorealist's model. It renders skin, fabric, food texture and architectural detail with a level of physical believability that makes images usable in commercial contexts, provided the prompt talks about cameras and light rather than art movements.

The prompts here are built that way: they borrow the vocabulary of the studio and the location shoot. Camera body and lens, aperture and depth of field, the direction and size of the light, the surface the subject sits on, and the time of day for exteriors. Those details are what FLUX turns into texture and depth.

The same structure covers food, interiors, architecture and product photography, so once you are comfortable with the format you can move between subjects without rewriting your approach, only the nouns.

Why use these prompts with FLUX

FLUX prompt guide

Write the shot list, not the mood

Camera, lens, aperture, distance and light. A prompt written like a photographer's note - 50mm, f/2, three-quarter view, window light from the left - gives FLUX everything it needs.

Describe the surface and the surroundings

Marble counter, brushed steel, linen tablecloth, damp pavement. Material words control the reflections and shadows that make a render read as a photograph.

Use time of day for exteriors

Overcast mid-morning, golden hour, blue hour with mixed interior light. A time reference sets colour temperature and shadow length in one phrase.

Keep it clean for commercial work

Ask for uncluttered surfaces, even lighting and neutral backgrounds when the image will carry text or sit in a catalogue. Save the dramatic light for hero shots.

FLUX prompts FAQ

What is FLUX best at?
Photorealistic imagery with believable texture and light: portraits, food, product, interiors and architecture. It is a strong choice for commercially usable photographs.
Why do camera details matter?
FLUX maps lens and aperture language onto real optical effects - depth of field, compression, falloff - so those details change the image in a predictable way.
Can I use FLUX prompts in Midjourney?
The shot-list structure transfers well. Midjourney will add more atmosphere and interpretation; FLUX will stay closer to the literal brief.
Does FLUX render text well?
Simple short text is possible but inconsistent. For packaging or posters where the copy must be exact, generate the image and add the type in your design tool.
How do I get consistent product images?
Freeze the camera, lens, distance and light wording across the set, and change only the product and the styling. Consistency comes from the fixed half of the prompt.
